Founder | DI Colorist | Post-Production Supervisor Ryan Graves

Filmmaker Ryan Graves has been actively working across several layers of the film industry since 2011. He came to Portland in 2011 to pursue a career in filmmaking. His various experiences include production, distribution, and exhibition and has essentially had a hand in every element of the film industry. As a Post-Production Specialist he has worked with major media companies such as HBO and Paramount and as a Colorist he has worked with numerous agencies like CMD, Hijinx, Lucky Day, and Droptree, grading ads from brands such as Microsoft, the NBA, Intel, Gatorade, and many more. He has colored several feature films including ‘Raging Midlife’, starring Eddie Griffin & Paula Abdul, and the musical-drama ‘NORA’, shot by legendary Portland cinematographer Kevin Fletcher.

Ryan’s company, Hibernation Post, was established to serve feature filmmakers in all aspects of post-production including footage processing, editorial support, color grading, mastering, finishing & archival.

As a writer and director, he’s shaped the company to meet the ever-evolving needs of filmmakers crafting their feature film. Located in Portland, Oregon, Hibernation Post provides essential post services like hot storage for quick access to film footage, cold storage for reliable and safe data backup, and color grading where a film truly establishes its visual identity.

Mastering services are crafted for any deliverable need, including Theatrical DCP, IMF for OTT VOD, and a variety of web formats. Archival services include dedicated LTO Tape archiving, the Hollywood standard for long-term project storage. As a Post-Production Supervisor, Ryan has shepherded multiple feature films through the post-production process to find the best workflows that are cost effective and high quality. Recent features include the dementia drama ‘Wake Up Maggie’ from Sundance Cohort member Katie Prentiss and Eric Delehoy’s Queer drama ‘Winters, Nebraska’.
